A Trip to Icacos Beach (South Trinidad)

Other than basking in the hot sun on the Nothern Coast why not try soothing in the ambiance of the Southern Land. Lets take a trip  to deep south where we'll visit a fishing village known as Icacos. This village is situated on the South Western part of Trinidad and to arrive there one must first travel to Point Fortin. On leaving Point Fortin you will come upon a very long winding road which will finally take you to your long awaited destination of ...... Icacos. It is a mere 3 hour drive (no traffic) if you're coming from Port of Spain (City).

This village was originally named 'Icaco' by the Amerindians, named after a shrub that grew in abundance there. The residents are mostly fisher men that sell their goods either on the roadside, at small shacks or in the community market. The scenery is beautifully majestic ....  with coconut trees on either side of the roadway and the sun setting on the horizon in its glorious golden splendor. There are goats vivaciously grazing the many fields, crossing the streets or strolling their way home whilst the residents gather among themselves chatting, smiling and laughing. A memory and revelation of how peaceful and majestic Trinidad is! ^_^

*Leave me a comment below ..... have you ever been to Icacos .... are you eager to visit? :)
