A Trip to Las Cuevas Beach (North Trinidad)

Another Sunday calls for another beach day here on my island. Today we take ourselves to the beautiful Las Cuevas Beach. Its a stone throw away from Maracas Beach and it always features a smaller crowd and a bit calmer waters. There are life guards at the beach and the water is superb!! One can easily mellow in the sun and just relax under an umbrella. This is another destination I enjoy coming to when I'm just looking for a place to unwind. Enjoy some of the pictures I took, have you ever been to Las Cuevas Beach?

Grand Bazar Road Side Food Restaurants

So it was a cold and stormy night on Monday but that didn't stop the grumbling of my stomach to yearn for something grilled and fried .... yummy!! So Burger it was ..... but where shall I go? I jumped in my car, braved through the weather conditions and found myself at Grand Bazar, there the streets are lined with great fast food outlets serving a wide variety of international foods like Arepas, Soups, Burgers, Grilled Lamb, Grilled Fish, Grilled Chicken, Gyros just to name a few. The crowd was patient, the service was hospitable and the prices was affordable. A meal may cost between $35 TT to $60TT but the taste is sooo not disappointing. After receiving your meal you can have a seat and enjoy the ambiance of the cheerful laughter and chatter of the people around you. Have you ever been to Grand Bazar Roadside Fast Food Restaurants?

A Trip to Blanchisseuse (North Trinidad)

So its the weekend again today folks and  today I'm taking a drive to another spot where one can just relax and chill. Its another beach destination in this tropical paradise known as Blanchisseuse. The drive through this country side was absolutely breath taking ..... the tranquil ambiance, lustrous green of the forest  and raging roar of the beach's waves was everything you can possibly dream about.

A Trip to Icacos Beach (South Trinidad)

Other than basking in the hot sun on the Nothern Coast why not try soothing in the ambiance of the Southern Land. Lets take a trip  to deep south where we'll visit a fishing village known as Icacos. This village is situated on the South Western part of Trinidad and to arrive there one must first travel to Point Fortin. On leaving Point Fortin you will come upon a very long winding road which will finally take you to your long awaited destination of ...... Icacos. It is a mere 3 hour drive (no traffic) if you're coming from Port of Spain (City).

This village was originally named 'Icaco' by the Amerindians, named after a shrub that grew in abundance there. The residents are mostly fisher men that sell their goods either on the roadside, at small shacks or in the community market. The scenery is beautifully majestic ....  with coconut trees on either side of the roadway and the sun setting on the horizon in its glorious golden splendor. There are goats vivaciously grazing the many fields, crossing the streets or strolling their way home whilst the residents gather among themselves chatting, smiling and laughing. A memory and revelation of how peaceful and majestic Trinidad is! ^_^
